THE OPPORTUNITY
The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Monterey County seeks a bridge-building, visionary executive with the knowledge and integrity to lead this trusted philanthropic enterprise focused on meeting the needs of the residents throughout the diverse, wide-ranging communities that comprise Monterey County.
The next President and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) will be a trusted convener, encouraging inclusivity, and advocating aspirational and pragmatic solutions to countywide issues. The CEO will continue to build assets under management and to attract new donors.
The CEO will report to a high functioning, well-respected governing Board and will be responsible for leading and managing, inspiring and retaining, a highly professional, high performing staff.

THE POSITION
The CEO of CFMC provides strategic vision and leadership to advance the Foundation’s mission of fostering healthy, safe, and vibrant communities throughout Monterey County. Working closely with the Board of Directors and committees of the Board, the CEO guides organizational strategy, community leadership, and philanthropic impact while enhancing the organization’s financial health, stellar reputation, and caring for the high performing staff.
The CEO leads CFMC with vision and purpose, aligning resources, programs, and operations to drive meaningful change. The CEO serves as CFMC’s chief ambassador, building strong relationships with donors, nonprofit partners, public agencies, and community leaders. Through proactive leadership and community partnership, the CEO ensures CFMC continues to be a trusted leader and changemaker, ensuring positive impact across the many diverse communities of Monterey County.
The CEO is a public leader who engages externally but leads internally by inspiring and empowering the staff to perform at their best. The CEO is responsible for guiding the staff’s work on ensuring the operational infrastructure can support future growth, sound operations, efficient technology tools and systems, and cross-departmental communication.

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Human Resources Manager position is responsible for the implementation and oversight of core HR programs and employee-related initiatives to ensure an effective, sustainable personnel strategy over the long term for the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC). This is a part-time hourly position up to 25 hours per week depending on business needs. The position will have a flexible hybrid schedule with office hours required weekly.
THE POSITION
The Human Resources Manager works under the general direction and supervision of the Senior Vice President of Finance and Human Resources. This position performs advanced human resource duties which include serving as the staff contact for the CFMC requiring generalist knowledge, an accommodating presence, and a high degree of professionalism, tact, and discretion.
