About Traven Tapson
Traven Tapson was a talented athlete and sports enthusiast who played travel baseball for the Monterey Bay Pirates for 5 years before going on to start for four years for the Carmel Varsity Baseball team. He excelled at the plate and on the mound for Carmel High School. He went on to play baseball at Claremont McKenna College and graduate with a degree in Government studies.
Some of the most fun, satisfying, and formative moments of his youth came playing travel baseball, where he developed his skill, and learned how to win and lose graciously and be a great teammate. This time was treasured by his family as well.
A foundation has been started in his honor to help fund deserving, enthusiastic young ball players who would not otherwise be able to afford to play recreation or travel softball or baseball.
