Building for the Future
The Morse Foundation: Our Mission
The Morse Foundation has been established to provide scholarships for Monterey Peninsula Country Club employees and/or their immediate family members to promote learning and enhance their quality of life through personal and professional growth.
Our Impact
The Morse Foundation has awarded more than $728,000 through 157 scholarships since 2014. Recipients include 26 employees and 131 of their children.
This is a tangible way to show our appreciation for their service and dedication which creates important opportunities to achieve their educational and career goals.
What a fantastic program, and a fantastic opportunity to better my life.”
– Nina Locklar (MPCC Foodservice)
Our Purpose
The Morse Foundation Fund provides funding to assist eligible MPCC employees and/or their immediate family members who wish to obtain undergraduate or postgraduate college education, attend a certification course, achieve a professional accreditation or develop a trade skill in pursuit of personal and professional growth.
College degrees are vital to a thriving economy and building healthy, safe, vibrant communities in Monterey County. However, too many of our young people with the ability and desire to succeed in college lack the support to do so. College costs have risen faster than financial aid. Some low-income families are faced with college expenses that require 50-70% of their income.
Our Goal: Sustain Scholarships for Years to Come
Building The Morse Foundation at MPCC creates a permanent philanthropic resource. Our initial goal of a $5 million endowment will generate up to $200,000 in scholarships each year to benefit MPCC employees and their children now and into the future.
Why Invest?
- Educational opportunities are life-changing
- We care about our employees
- Creating a “Culture of Giving” is important at MPCC
- Achieving a $5 million endowment will ensure fiscal responsibility
Why Now?
The Morse Foundation has been awarding scholarships since its establishment in 2014. Over the years, MPCC and The Morse Foundation have maintained a strong partnership with the Monterey Peninsula Foundation (MPF), and we anticipate the relationship with MPF will continue.
The need to recognize and support our employees and their families remains. Our Foundation’s 10th Anniversary in 2024 and Club’s 100th Year Anniversary in 2025 is the perfect time for our Membership to embrace the continued support of these life-changing scholarships.
Legacy Giving
Give a gift now in honor of someone to recognize a special occasion/accomplishment or in memory of a special friend upon their passing. Leaving a planned gift to the Morse Foundation Stewardship Fund is a special way to leave a lasting legacy to benefit MPCC employees and their families. You can rest assured that scholarships from the fund will improve the lives of MPCC employees and their families for generations to come.
