Gonzales Community Center Capital Campaign Fund

Our vision is that every woman and girl has what she needs to be healthy, confident and able to fulfill her dreams. When a woman thrives, her family thrives. When a family thrives, the community thrives.

Dennis & Janice Caprara Community Center

The Dennis & Janice Caprara Community Center Complex will be a great benefit for the entire community. The center will house a variety of programs and activities. It will offer a safe place for residents of all ages and provide the opportunity to interact with others, which can strengthen social connections. The center will enhance community engagement and continue the City’s intentional effort to create a safe and inclusive environment for residents.

The Dennis & Janice Caprara Community Center Complex will be constructed on a city-owned parcel just east of Fairview Middle School. The entire complex will comprise a community hall, teen innovation center, and County library. The County library will be relocated from the current rental space in the Gonzales Shopping Center. The Gonzales Community Center Capital Campaign Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County will support the construction of the new Center.

Concept Plan

The city has outlined a phased approach to building the Community Center Complex. Implementing a phased approach allows the city to build the project as funding becomes available.

Phase 1: County Library, Teen Innovation Center, restrooms, staff office, courtyard with amphitheater, and parking lot with landscaping

Phase 2: Community Center Building with Community Hall, fitness center, meeting rooms, commercial kitchen, and remainder of additional parking

Why Give

From its inception, the project to build a new community center for the City of Gonzales has been a combined effort of public servants and community volunteers. The Community Center will be a phenomenal center–a safe gathering place for recreation, learning, and community activities–and there is great excitement about the project. The City of Gonzales and the fundraising committee thank you for your consideration and hope we can count on you to support our fundraising campaign.

Campaign Goal – Join Us!

The estimated budget for the entire project is $34.8 million.
