COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on the lives of Monterey County residents. Since launching March 16, 2020, COVID-19 Relief Fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County (CFMC) has provided critical funding for food, housing, mental health and program support to nonprofits serving Monterey County residents in need.
The CFMC granted $3,023,762 in the first six months(through September 16, 2020) in 127 grants to 103 nonprofits. Grants have helped organizations serving vulnerable individuals and families with basic needs such as food, housing, living expenses, transportation costs and supplies related to the economic and social impacts of COVID-19. Additional grants will be made as long as donations keep pace with the need.
