SUMMARY:Webinar - Fostering a Culture of Joyful Accountability
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is offered by Nonprofit Quarterly. Visit their website to register. \nAs equity-centered organizations have experimented beyond traditional\, corporate systems of supervision and performance management\, the question of accountability has become an especially complex one. If we aren’t relying on power-over models to foster accountability\, what alternative approaches are both values-aligned and effective? To what extent is joyful accountability possible within an organizational context? \nJovida Ross and Weyam Ghadban\, co-authors of Turning Towards Each Other: A Conflict Workbook\, return to NPQ to offer concrete practices to foster accountability in equity-centered organizations. Rather than viewing accountability as punishment\, as supremacist culture teaches\, they argue that supporting team members in contributing to shared purpose can be joyful and energizing. This workshop will explore how to proactively support commitment\, creativity\, and communication that holds each other with care and rigor. \nThe session will cover: \n\nproactive measures to support people to contribute well\nunderstanding the value of feedback and how to build a positive feedback culture\noptions for how to respond effectively when agreements are broken\n\nThis session is ideal for all staff who manage people and/or projects in nonprofits and philanthropies.
